North Park Symposium on the Theological Interpretation of Scripture

Each fall North Park Theological Seminary brings eight to ten national and international scholars to its campus to focus attention on a theological topic important for the life of the Church. The scholars represent various relevant disciplines, but regardless of discipline they are asked to bring their academic expertise to the discussion of specific biblical texts and to direct their thoughts to pastors and Church leaders. Consequently, each symposium asks biblical scholars, theologians, historians, ethicists, and other scholars to do theology for the Church. The symposium is conducted within a context of worship, and the last session is a worship service with a sermon on the relevant theme. In addition to the participating scholars, those in attendance include North Park faculty and students, faculty from neighboring institutions, pastors, and a limited number of guests.
