About-

Light & Glorie showcases new work by many of South Australia's - and Australia's - finest poets. The poems were written in response to the stained glass windows of St. Bart's Anglican Church in Norwood, one of Adelaide's oldest churches. Some thirty poets took up the challenge of writing about the windows and their responses - ranging from devotional to sceptical, from detailed to digressive, from the personal and aesthetic to the historical - are part of a long literary tradition of writing about works of art.

Endorsements & Reviews-

"Reading the poems brought to mind two thoughts, one poetic and the other about the especial beauty that stained glass can convey. William Wordsworth wrote of "Thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears"
while a distant relative of mine, Hugh Arnold (author of Stained Glass of the Middle Ages in England and France) described stained glass through "that dazzling and glowing labyrinth of coloured jewels a past age is speaking far more articulately, if one stops to unravel the message, than ever in stone or wood". Reading this collection of poems, I encountered deep thoughts evoked by the "glowing labyrinth of coloured jewels" that are the stained glass windows of St. Bart's."
