About-

Winner of The Word Guild award in the category of Christian Leadership in 2011.

Why does it feel like most of the world today considers irrelevant the gospel we cherish and so faithfully proclaim in our churches? Why do our Christian responses fail to satisfy the heart quests of our neighbors? Does the shallowness of our neatly packaged answers alienate us from them and from each other?
More Questions than Answers offers the hope of reconciliation through exploring how we can develop listening relationships. Walking together in what becomes a spiritual accompaniment, we learn to attune ourselves to one another and to the Spirit within us. Then we dare to reach across the chasm that separates us and discover an authentic faith emerges.

Endorsements & Reviews-

"We all seek answers in our vulnerable humanity, and Eleanor Shepherd is not afraid to probe a God who understands the nature of our fear and wonder at the same time."
--Christine MacMillan
Director, The Salvation Army, International Social Justice Commission

"As Christians we can share some of our light with others--though we know it is not complete. In the end, Shepherd reminds us, it is the Holy Spirit that we are trusting, who enables us to understand or to trust that one day we will."
--Gail Reid
Managing Editor, Faith Today

"Read this book with care. Talk about how we witness with friends. Reflect on her important insights. Then, with love and sensitivity, test them in life. A book wonderfully written and powerful in what is said."
--Brian C Stiller
Chancellor, Tyndale University College and Seminary

"[Shepherd] reminds us of how we may follow the lead of Jesus in coming along side others and listening in ways that help them grow in their faith through our ministry of presence. It is a must read for counsellors, pastors, lay leaders, and anyone who has a heart for others."
--Jonathan S. Raymond
President, Trinity Western University

More Questions Than Answers - Sharing Faith by Listening, by Canadian author Eleanor Shepherd is an inspiring look at the power of listening.
I am a Chatty Cathy. My grade eight report card said, "Laura is merely here to socialize." She had me pegged! Which is why I found More Questions Than Answers so interesting. I don't practice the art of listening as well as I should. Yet, it is something in which every Christian should be proficient. We listen to the Word of God every Sunday morning. We listen to the "still small voice of God" in our prayers. We listen during Bible Study. Yet, sometimes we are so eager to share our faith, that we fail to listen to the person we are trying to share it with.
But there is another side to this book that spoke to me as well-the thought of a "listening ministry". It never occurred to me that listening could be a ministry. Can you share your faith by listening? Eleanor Shepherd believes so, but we do it in accompaniment with the Holy Spirit. This spiritual accompaniment is vital to a listening ministry.
Written in three parts, Shepherd will help the reader learn what it really means to listen and how to share your faith by doing so. The first part, The Listening Process, will help the reader develop listening skills. The second section covers Discovering and Sharing our Faith. The final section of the book called The Source is designed to help you deepen your relationship with Christ through exercises and prayer and it helps you learn to create listening environments.

If you want to come alongside your friends and share your faith with them in a way that will make an impression, then pick up More Questions than Answers. You'll be glad you did!
