“James Leo Garrett is one of the most prolific writing theologians in the history of Southern Baptists. His mastery of biblical and theological truth is indeed impeccable, but his heart for the church and for the kingdom is even more inspiring. . . . I am grateful that now more of his writings and wisdom may be rediscovered again by a new generation of Southern Baptists, evangelicals, and all truth-seeking believers. I cannot recommend this volume and the entire series of the Collected Works of James Leo Garrett Jr. highly enough.”
—Adam W. Greenway, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
“Dr. Garrett’s broad and accurate knowledge of the relevant literature for any subject he tackles is challenging to any scholar. His accuracy and fairness of presentation is a model for us all to emulate. The breadth and variety of his subject matter marks him as truly a world-class scholar. His evangelical convictions shine through, not forming a blinding bias, but establishing a love of truth and Christ that makes him determined to be honest and fair, as well as faithful. The evangelical world should welcome this edition of the works of Dr. James Leo Garrett and will be more informed and more Christlike for the welcoming.”
—Tom J. Nettles, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary

“Garrett is a significant Southern Baptist, having been professor at Southwestern Baptist Seminary and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. . . . These Collected Works . . . provide an insightful view of one Baptist mind that has been influential within American Baptist life, but also the Baptist World Alliance and inter-church dialogue.”
