- A Half-Tail Uprising
One half-tail is safely locked away in jail; another is starting seventh grade. A quiet summer for half-tail hero Dolby Hart and his whitetail deer friends lulls them into a false sense of security. Even his relationship with the Windmaster has grown cold. The threat to destroy the deer of small-town Gomer is surely over. Or is it? At a nearby campground, another animal half-tail lurks in the shadows secretly awaiting the opportunity to rise up in revenge. Will Dolby hear the rumblings of revolt in time to save his friends? Will he rediscover his need for the help of God and others? Or will a half-tail uprising be their end?
Brett Wirebaugh is Associate Pastor for Youth and Families at Harvest Presbyterian Church in Medina, Ohio, and has served in youth and children’s ministry in the local church and Christian school settings for over twenty-five years. He is the author of Half-Tail Rising (2019). Brett is married to his best friend, Holly, and has four amazing kids. He remains really bald and still really likes basketball.
“Wirebaugh takes us on a suspenseful ride when Dolby and his companions—two- and four-legged—find themselves at the center of a plot that threatens to test the very limits of friendship and loyalty. Page-turning plot twists hint at danger and betrayal, and had me asking: Who can be trusted? These are the teens I’d want by my side to solve a mystery!”
—Lisa Wallover, Board Member, Center for Parent/Youth Understanding
“It is rare that a sequel is as good as the original, but Wirebaugh has filled A Half-Tail Uprising with even more adventure, mystery, and valuable real-life wisdom. Adults and kids alike will enjoy joining Dolby and his friends—with and without tails—as they face the next challenge and learn how God is real and relevant in their lives.”
—Layne Hedden, Board Member, Center for Youth/Parent Understanding
“This book is full of life lessons we all need to learn, and sometimes the hard way.”
—Ward Ballard, Director of International Student Ministries, The Navigators, Colorado Springs
