“David Breeden develops a doxological lyricism here that is also dialectical and intrinsic to an ontological phenomenology in which he constructs a language that is both poetical and metaphysical at once. Perhaps in doing so he is paying homage to both Martin Heidegger and Gaston Bachelard. However, he makes this book-length persona poem regarding Amos a work of visionary and prophetic beneficence—worthy of the announcement of a newly amended New Testament.”
