“Doug Hood and Leo Thorne go straight to the heart of the practice of faith by exploring, explaining, and exampling the discipline of prayer. Through the meditations and prayers you will discover here, your own spiritual life will find new depth and meaning. You almost sense the need to take off your sandals while you read because this feels like holy ground.”
—Michael B. Brown, former senior minister, Marble Collegiate Church
“These five-minute meditations fill me with a sense of peace and a fresh understanding of the meaning of prayer. Simple and thought-provoking, they give a deeper perspective of our relationship with God, helping to elevate it to another level.”
—Kyaunnee Richardson, opera singer
“Authentic prayer usually comes ‘out of the depths,’ as the Psalmist says. Here is a special anthology of such real-life prayers, communications with God meant to encourage, uplift, and inspire. This is a wonderful guide for everyone who prays, and for all who wish they could.”
—Timothy George, distinguished professor of divinity and founding dean, Beeson Divinity School
