GIDEON S. S. PAULRAJ is an ordained minister of the Church of South India, a Church in the Anglican Communion, and teaches courses in GIDEON S. S. Having been born and raised in India, where approximately 40% of the food produced in India is wasted every year while 22 percent of its population is undernourished, saddened him. His concern for the destitute (beggars) motivates him to read Luke-Acts, especially the meal scenes regarding hunger and hospitality. His PhD research from the University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, proposes a Christology in terms of hunger and hospitality. He is pastoring a church in Madurai, Tamilnadu, India, and teaches New Testament, Greek, and Theology. Gideon's recent paper proposal has been accepted to be read at the 2023 International Meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature held in Pretoria, South Africa.
