About-

After the Gulf War and amidst the ongoing “peace process,” this timely book speaks to the need to address the deeper issues of Israel and Palestine—issues that concerned Jews, Arabs, and Christians must face if the legitimate rights of the Palestinians and the moral integrity of the State of Israel are to survive the rush to a “new world order” in the Middle East.

—Michael Rothberg, The Catholic Worker

“Provides an important service by recuperating the ‘voices of dissent’ within the margins of the Jewish community.”

—Jonathan Boyarin, Christianity and Crisis

“A vital contribution to solving one of the few remaining intractable problems of our times.”

—The Most Reverend Desmond M. Tutu, DD, Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town

“A searching, haunting, and disturbing book that raises theological and human issues that must be confronted. Marc Ellis must be taken seriously.”

—Rabbi Marshall T. Meyer, Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, New York

“Takes the discussion of the Jewish future beyond Holocaust theology and elevates the discussion of the Jewish-Arab struggle in Palestine from the familiar notion of conflict between competing nationalities to the higher level of interlocking destiny.”
