Chapters of the Heart a 2014 National Jewish Book Award Finalist

Chapters of the Heart: Jewish Women Sharing the Torah of Our Lives, edited by Sue Levi Elwell and Nancy Fuchs Kreimer, has been selected as a finalist of the 2014 National Jewish Book Award in the category of Women's Studies: Barbara Dobkin Award.

This book was selected after careful analysis by a panel of three judges who are all authorities in their field. The judges encountered a great deal of difficulty in making their decisions this year. Each category offered many viable candidates, which made the selection even harder. It is gratifying to know there is a wide range of Jewish content books available. Chapters of the Heart now joins the ranks of the hundreds of well-respected, classic Jewish books that have been National Jewish Book Award finalists. The National Jewish Book Awards, now in its 64th year, is the longest-running program of its kind in North America. The presentation of the National Jewish Book Awards will be held at a gala ceremony, open to the public, on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at the Center for Jewish History, 15 West 16th Street, New York City.

Congratulations again to Sue Levi Elwell, Nancy Fuchs Kreimer, and the following individuals that contributed to this excellent work: Rachel Adler, Amy Eilberg, Tamara Cohn Eskenaz, Vivian Mayer, Ellen Frankel, Dayle Friedman, Laura Geller, Blu Greenberg, Julie Greenberg, Margaret Holub, Vanessa Ochs, Hara Person, Ruth Sohn, Ellen Umansky, Sheila Weinberg, Wendy Zierler, Judith Plaskow.
