Endorsements & Reviews-

“Litzenberg has found a beautiful and sensitive way to put to words to such a difficult subject for us all. Maddie’s story so reminds me of the God-blessed relationship between my (now deceased) daughter and my father as well as the ‘talk’ she and I had to have. Dr. Litzenberg’s practical suggestions are wonderful. The illustrations by Ms. Blaker visually capture the moments of Maddie’s happy, to hurting, to healing journey. This is a ‘must have’ tool.”

—Garrett Tollenger, Chapter Leader and Facilitator, Greater Baltimore Chapter of The Compassionate Friends

“For parents who struggle with talking to their children about grieving, this book is an excellent place to begin explaining an experience that all of us will face at some point in our lives.”

—Eric Luppold, co-founder of Two Guys and a Bible podcast

Ice Cream Cones and Heart Stones is a beautiful depiction of the hope that can emerge from grief. All of us can learn deeply from how children process grief. This makes Ice Cream Cones and Heart Stones a book for all ages.”
