David Bartlett is Lantz Professor of Preaching and Dean of Academic Affairs at the Yale Divinity School. He received his B.A. from Swarthmore and his B.D. and Ph.D. from Yale.
Professor Bartlett is an ordained American Baptist minister and has served churches in Minneapolis, Chicago and Oakland. He has taught at Yale since 1990.
Bartlett wrote the study on I Peter for The New Interpreter's Bible. His most recent book is Between the Bible and the Church (Abingdon, 1999), and his 2001 Beecher Lectures will be published by Westminster/John Knox Press in the fall.
Mr. Bartlett's wife Carol is a parent - child educator. The Bartletts have two grown sons.
