About-

Distrust, divisiveness, and conflict run rampant in today’s world. Human relations are strained, communication gaps and breakdowns pervade. Yet whether within couples, families, friendships, workplaces, communities, or institutions across our nation and planet, defending our own positions and attacking those of the “Other” has not solved our problems. Maybe it’s time to explore how to communicate together in ways that bring connection and healing. In our stressful era the practice of person-centered dialogue offers both hope and help.

Endorsements & Reviews-

“Once again, Ron Gordon’s work on strengthening relationships takes us to a new level and depth of human relations. Original and practical, lyrical and inspiring, innovative and inviting, his offerings give us anew the opportunity to encourage connectivity and intimacy and trust. Now it is up to each of us to live this out together, and this small but rich book will be a gentle guide on our path.”

—Gay Leah Barfield, former Fellow, Center for Studies of the Person; former Co-Founder and Co-Director, Carl Rogers Institute for Peace

“If you have ever searched for a book that would both enrich your inner life as well as improve your relationships—this one is it. Ron Gordon’s unique approach combining research-based humanistic psychology, Eastern wisdom traditions, and the latest gems from communication research brings us a vehicle for a deep, lasting, and very positive transformation. This book is a gift to us from a brilliant practitioner.”

—Noelie Rodriguez, Professor of Sociology, University of Hawai’i

“We commonly hear people talk about civility’s decline in conversations at every level of society. However, we rarely hear effective ideas on stopping that decline and improving dialogue quality. Improvement is possible and this book shows how. Drawing on his own work and that of like-minded thinkers, Dr. Ron Gordon provides an interesting, thoughtful, and practical approach to improving dialogue even with the most intractable of people. This book will transform the reader’s dialogue with others!”

—Phil Backlund, Emeritus Professor of Communication, Central Washington University
